BlackRock acquires Melbourne-based battery developer Akaysha Energy

Alistair Jaque (Partner) and Steven An (Associate) acted for the shareholders of Akaysha Energy, a Melbourne-based battery developer, on its acquisition by one of the world’s largest fund managers, BlackRock. 

The acquisition by BlackRock’s climate infrastructure business will result in a $1 billion investment in grid-scale batteries and a significant shift from coal to clean energy in Australia.
